Ingredients:
- 1.5 lbs broccolini, washed and trimmed (approx. 680g)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (30 ml)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons fresh orange juice (30 ml)
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice (30 ml)
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free) (15 ml)
- 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger (about a 1-inch piece) (15 ml)
- 1 teaspoon honey (or maple syrup for vegan) (5 ml)
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil (5 ml)
Instructions:
- Wash and trim the broccolini. Cut any thick stalks lengthwise for even cooking.
- Whisk together all dressing ingredients in a small bowl. Set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add garlic and red pepper flakes (if using) and sauté until fragrant (about 30 seconds), being careful not to burn the garlic.
- Add broccolini to the skillet and sauté, stirring frequently, until tender-crisp and bright green, about 5-7 minutes. Add a splash of water to the pan and cover briefly to steam if needed to achieve desired tenderness.
- Remove from heat and pour the ginger-citrus dressing over the broccolini. Toss to coat. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately.
