Ingredients:

  • 1 pound (450g) Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved (or quartered if large)
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2g) garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1g) black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon (3g) sea salt (or kosher salt), plus more to taste
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon (15ml) balsamic glaze or maple syrup (for drizzling after cooking)

Instructions:

  1. Trim the ends of the Brussels sprouts and remove any loose outer leaves. Halve or quarter them, depending on size.
  2. In a large bowl, toss the Brussels sprouts with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Ensure the sprouts are evenly coated.
  3. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3 minutes. Place the Brussels sprouts in the air fryer basket in a single layer. You may need to cook in batches to avoid overcrowding.
  4. Air fry for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the Brussels sprouts are tender and golden brown, with crispy edges. Check for doneness by piercing with a fork.
  5. Remove the Brussels sprouts from the air fryer. Drizzle with balsamic glaze or maple syrup (if using). Season with additional salt to taste. Serve immediately.
