Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (450g) Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
  • 3 tablespoons (45ml) olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2g) sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1g) black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1g) red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/2 cup (50g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • Zest of 1 lemon (optional, for added brightness)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Trim the ends and slice the Brussels sprouts in half.
  3. In a large bowl, combine Brussels sprouts, olive oil, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Toss until well-coated.
  4. Spread the mixture in a single layer on a baking sheet, cut sides facing down.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes until crispy and golden, flipping halfway through for even cooking.
  6. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan over the Brussels sprouts for the last 5 minutes of baking.
  7. Remove from the oven and garnish with lemon zest if using before serving.
