Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 3.5 lbs baby back ribs
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1.5 cups BBQ sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey

Instructions:

  1. Remove the thin silvery membrane from the back of the ribs using a butter knife and paper towel. Pat the ribs dry.
  2. Combine brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Massage the rub generously into the meat.
  3. Pour apple cider vinegar into the bottom of the slow cooker. Coil the ribs inside the pot, meat-side up, in a spiral pattern.
  4. Cover and cook on Low for 8 hours (or High for 4-5 hours) until the meat shrinks back from the bone ends by about half an inch.
  5. Preheat the oven broiler to high. Transfer ribs to a baking sheet.
  6. Mix BBQ sauce with honey and brush a thick layer over the ribs. Broil for 3–5 minutes until the sauce bubbles and char spots develop.
