Ingredients:
- 8 large eggs
- 1 cup water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Optional toppings: Fresh chives, chopped, Shredded cheese, Hot sauce or salsa
Instructions:
- Prepare the Crock Pot: Start by greasing the inside of your crock pot with a little oil or cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- Set Up the Water Bath: Pour 1 cup of water into the bottom of the crock pot. This water will create steam during cooking, mimicking a sauna environment that helps cook the eggs evenly.
- Prepare the Eggs: Carefully place all eight eggs directly on top of a small dish or trivet placed within the crock pot to avoid direct contact with water if you prefer them less steamed.
- Seasoning: Sprinkle salt and pepper over each egg for added flavor, if desired.
- Cover and Cook: Place the lid firmly on your crock pot and set it to low for about six hours or high for about three hours depending on how soft you prefer your yolks.
- Check Doneness: After cooking time is complete, carefully remove one egg using tongs and check its firmness by gently tapping it against a hard surface—if its cooked to your liking, proceed; if not, continue cooking for another hour on low heat.
- Cool Down & Serve: Once done, let them cool slightly before peeling under cold running water to help remove shells easily.
- Garnish & Enjoy! Serve warm with optional toppings like chopped chives, shredded cheese, hot sauce, or salsa as preferred!
