Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup (30g) steel-cut oats
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • 1/4 cup (60g) yogurt (Greek or regular, plain or vanilla)
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) chia seeds (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) maple syrup (or honey, or agave)
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/4 cup (40g) fresh berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped nuts (almonds, walnuts, pecans)
  • Sprinkle of cinnamon

Instructions:

  1. In your container or jar, combine steel-cut oats, milk, yogurt, chia seeds (if using), sweetener, and salt.
  2. Ensure all ingredients are thoroughly mixed. There shouldn't be any dry oat lurking at the bottom.
  3. Cover and refrigerate for at least 6 hours, or preferably overnight.
  4. In the morning, give it a good stir. If it's too thick, add a splash more milk. Top with your favorite toppings and enjoy your overnight oats with steel cut!
