Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup (30g) steel-cut oats
- 1/2 cup (120ml) milk (dairy or non-dairy)
- 1/4 cup (60g) yogurt (Greek or regular, plain or vanilla)
- 1 tablespoon (15ml) chia seeds (optional)
- 1 teaspoon (5ml) maple syrup (or honey, or agave)
- Pinch of salt
- 1/4 cup (40g) fresh berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
- 1 tablespoon chopped nuts (almonds, walnuts, pecans)
- Sprinkle of cinnamon
Instructions:
- In your container or jar, combine steel-cut oats, milk, yogurt, chia seeds (if using), sweetener, and salt.
- Ensure all ingredients are thoroughly mixed. There shouldn't be any dry oat lurking at the bottom.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 6 hours, or preferably overnight.
- In the morning, give it a good stir. If it's too thick, add a splash more milk. Top with your favorite toppings and enjoy your overnight oats with steel cut!
